Darrell Kastin

This month we're excited to feature the work of Darrell Kastin, a Portuguese-American authors with roots in the Azores.

 

His grandparents were the Azorean poets & journalists Francisco and Josefina do Canto e Castro. Kastin's mother was born in Faial, but the family also had roots on the islands of Terceira, Pico, S. Jorge and Corvo. He has traveled extensively in the islands, including his wifes' birthplace of Santa Maria. His work has appeared in publications in the U.S. and Portugal, including The Seattle Review and Açoriano Oriental. His works include:

  • The Conjurer & Other Azorean Tales (2012)

  • The Iconoclast, Shadow Boxing with Bukowski (2015)
